Sarah Rosenblum (’98) is a half Filipina American ceramicist and sculptor based in LA born in Philadelphia. Her work takes notes from dressmaking and abstract painting, practices learned from her grandmothers. Her work references ancestry and traditions transformed into dream like forms utilizing textures and surrealist imagery. Her pieces reflect cerebral patterns as she processes a bipolar disorder which informs her work as the work itself is a source of healing. Inspired by elements in cycles of nature and evolving ecosystems, each piece grows from work that she has made before it. A Northwestern journalism graduate in 2021, she uses ceramics as a tactile form of language. she has collaborated with designers and architects, and her work has shown in galleries in LA and NY.
